A universal coupling, also known as a universal joint or U-joint, is a mechanical joint. It’s used to connect two shafts that are inclined at an angle to each other. Its primary function is to transmit rotary motion or torque between PTO shafts that are not aligned along the same axis.

Although sometimes people call it a universal joint (U-joint), the universal coupling can differ slightly in form and function depending on the specific application actually. It is widely utilized in applications where power transmission requires flexibility, such as connecting rotating shafts in industrial machinery, automotive systems, and agricultural equipment.
