Gearbox Catagory

The tractor gearbox serves as a crucial mechanical component within the kinematic chain of agricultural machinery. Typically, it is powered by the tractor’s power take-off (PTO) through a PTO shaft, which then transfers power to the gearbox. Besides chain gears, the operating torque can also be delivered to the gearbox via hydraulic motors or belt pulleys.

The tractor gearbox typically has one input shaft and at least one output shaft. When these shafts are arranged at a 90° angle to each other, the gearbox is referred to as an orthogonal angle gearbox, commonly known as a right-angle gearbox. On the other hand, if the input and output shafts are aligned parallel to each other, the gearbox is classified as a parallel shaft gearbox.
